SKU: TPKTTAILMUSH2OZTURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT - ORGANIC, ANTIOXIDANT IMMUNE & IRREGULAR TISSUE SUPPORT*
TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT is a healthful fruiting fungus identified by its colorful rings, which resemble a turkey's tail, and has been used traditionally for thousands of years to help support immune health, for its strong adaptogen and antioxidant values and as a potential adjunctive for irregular tissues and growth. Our TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT is grown on native wood and harvested at the peak of potency, extracted via hot water to ensure maximum molecular release of the fungal cells, and does not include grains. starch fillers or mycelium and is grown organically.
TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT may be a significant immune regulating and immune, restorative dietary addition due to its diverse array of polysaccharide-K (PSK) and polysaccharide-P (PSP) beta-glucan content, selenium, vitamin B3 and Vitamin D, prebiotics, and minerals which bind directly to the receptors found in immune call walls, affecting change as needed. Why is this so important?
When your pet has an auto-immune disease or suffers from chronic illness, stress or irregular growths, its immune system requires an upregulation to help fight disease and to restore immune balance. Or when your pet experiences an excessive inflammatory immune response, it then requires a down regulation to the immune system, however, sick animals cannot accomplish this without some form of dietary intervention.
Beta-d glucans found in TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT may help activate macrophages which are immune cells tasked with destroying bacteria, viruses, and other invading pathogens like cancer cells. When the immune system is not properly functioning, it cannot effectively fight invading cancer cells.
Beta-glucans also help stimulate other immune cells, including natural killer (NK) cells and T-leukocytes, which are part of the adaptogenic immune system, helping to increase antibody production, may help boost positive pathogen fighting cytokine immune response while reducing negative excessive pro-inflammatory cytokines, and may have an important potential inhibitory role of cancer cells, known as metastasis.
Beta-D-glucans can bind to and activate macrophages, which are the immune cells responsible for destroying bacteria, viruses, and pathogenic invaders like cancer cells. Beta-glucans may also stimulate other immune cells, including natural killer (NK) cells and T-leukocytes, which are an important part of the adaptive immune system.
TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT may help support balanced immune response, may help boost pathogen fighting cytokine immune response, may help control excess inflammation, may supply soluble fiber, and may help regulate cholesterol and blood sugar levels.
TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT also contains antioxidant polysaccharides, phenols, flavonoids, triterpenes and sesquiterpenes, which further boost immune health and as a cytotoxic, may exert a specific immune protecting response for cells, DNA and tissues against pathogenic, neoplastic cells that are commonly linked to malignant growths. A recent study conducted by the Veterinary School at the University of Penn State demonstrated that Turkey Tail mushrooms may provide significant support against hemangiosarcoma, a common form of aggressive cancer in dogs which commonly affects the spleen, as well as greatly enhanced longevity outcomes. Additionally, international studies using turkey tail mushroom have shown promise when used as an adjunctive for breast, gastric and colorectal cancers.
TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT may also be an important anti-fungal for dogs and cats suffering from acute or chronic yeast infections, by helping to feed and increase beneficial yeast colonies while helping reduce or destroy opportunistic pathogenic yeast. When this occurs, the immune system further gets involved to directly fight yeast presence in the body.
Other possible secondary benefits of TURKEY TAIL MUSHROOM EXTRACT apply to the conditional needs of digestion due to its prebiotic content; heart health related to its phytochemical antioxidant phenolic compounds gallic acid, protocatechuic acid and catechins; as a hepatoprotective liver protector, important for dogs and cats who frequently use steroid, antibiotic or chemotherapy regimens; for respiratory distress, cholesterol and urinary tract health
