ESPINHEIRA SANTA is a small shrubby, evergreen tree known as "Holy Thorn" that is used widely in South American traditional, herbal medical systems. It grows plentifully and is native to many tropical regions of South America, including both urban and rain forest ecosystems.

As a primary antacid and antiulcerous, ESPINHEIRA SANTA is primarily used for the conditional needs related to all types of ulcers, especially stomach and gastric ulcers, for excess gastric acid, heartburn, GERD, reflux, as well as chronic gastritis and dyspepsia, indigestion, for liver disorders and as a laxative for constipation.

South American studies have focused on the use of ESPINHEIRA SANTA for stomach disorders, including gastric acid reflux, gastritis, H. pylori, dyspepsia, indigestion, stomach pain and as a tonic to tone, balance and strengthen the gastric tract, in part, due to its strongly antioxidant, anti-mutagenic, vulnerary (wound healing) and anti-microbial actions help protect the mucosal lining of the stomach. Its antiseptic and antacid actions may help prevent acid formation, acid pooling and acid burns to delicate mucosal tissues.

As a plant based anti-septic, astringent, anti-inflammatory and vulnerary,  ESPINHEIRA SANTA is also used widely for a variety of topical and internal wounds and external rashes and for irregular tissues and growths inside and outside of the body.

Other traditional, herbal, medical system uses of ESPINHEIRA SANTA include an anti-spasmodic for asthma and upper respiratory infections. It may also have an important influence on the Endocrine System as a possible counter balance to adrenal exhaustion, as an adrenal tonic to help tone, strengthen and balance adrenal function,  and for its detoxifying and potential chelating actions (may bind to and help remove heavy metals) related to skin, blood, kidney, stomach and adrenals. 

Documented, researched plant actions include antioxidant, antacid, anti-ulcerous, antiulcerogenic (potential ulcer preventative), anti-tumorous, anti-cancerous, cytotoxic, anti-mutagenic (cellular protector), antileukemic, contraceptive and estrogenic, as well as documented, researched plant actions for a variety of irregular skin disorders related to cancer, including melanoma, carcinoma, adenocarcinoma, lymphoma and leukemia. ESPINHEIRA SANTA is NOT a cure for any type of cancer. 

ESPINHEIRA SANTA is a studied and documented analgesic (pain reliever), anti-nociceptive (may help block sensory nerve pain), anti-inflammatory, anti-asthmatic, antiseptic, astringent, blood cleanser, carminative, detoxifier, chelator, anti-fertility, gastrotonic (to tone, balance and strengthen the gastric tract) and overall body tonic to help tone, strengthen and balance all body systems.

The studied plant chemistry of ESPINHEIRA SANTA has focused on its novel maytansinoid content, specifically maytansine and mayteine, and triterpene cangorins, which are used in South American herbal medicals systems for its anti-ulcerous, antacid, anti-turmoral, cytotoxic and detoxifying plant actions related to ulcers and other digestive wounds as well as irregular growths. 

ESPINHEIRA SANTA contains a diverse array of healthy,  natural plant chemicals, includining atropcangorosin, cangoaronin, cangorins A thru J, cangorinine, cangorosin A & B, celastrol, dispermol, dispermone, friedelan, friedelin, friedelinol, friedoolean, friedooleanan, ilicifolin, ilicifolinoside A thru C, kaempferol trisaccharides, kaempferol disaccharides, maitenine, maytanbutine, maytanprine, maytansine, maytenin, maytenoic acid, maytenoquinone, pristimeriin, pristimerin, quercetin trisaccharides, quercitin, salaspermic acid, tingenol, and tingenone. 

CONTRAINDICATIONS:

Do not give to pregnant or nursing pets or pets with estrogen positive cancers. May inhibit fertility for pets about to be bred.

DRUG INTERACTONS:

May interact with barbiturate drugs.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Add powder to your dog or cat's meal daily.

Best if added to canned wet food, home prepared meals and treats, raw, dehydrated or hybrid diets.
