AMARANTH is an ancient Peruvian seed, super food and nutritional power food, also referred to as Kiwicha and “golden grain.” AMARANTH has been farmed in Peru for over 4000 years as a sustainable, staple crop and is grown and harvested in the Andean inter-lowland and highland valleys, at elevations between 6000-11000 feet.
AMARANTH is a nutrient dense complete protein and gluten free nutritional power house, containing essential amino acids, including lysine, cysteine and methionine, which are typically lacking in modern diets. Amaranth is considered a potential protein for dogs with allergies to other protein sources.
As a complete protein, it is an ideal addition to both meat based and vegetarian diets. Both water and fat soluble, AMARANTH can be cooked, baked or popped and can be added to all types of diets.
