An animal health or nutritional supplement is a product intended to support maintenance of normal biological structure and function in animals and to help provide a complete and balanced diet for dogs, cats and horses. These types of products are typically manufactured in therapeutic dosages for animal health and wellness and include products that contain glucosamine, chondroitin sulfate, MSM and other plant and marine constituents. How soon will my pet notice benefits from using supplements?

Herbals and supplements work differently than synthetic medications and usually require more time to work because they cleanse, nourish and regenerate your pet’s body and tend to work systemically rather than only symptomatically. 

Typically your pet should experience results from most herbals within a few weeks of use, and with more pronounced effects realized around 4-6 weeks. 

For many diseases and conditions, it is recommended that your pet use the products between 8-12 weeks to fully experience long term benefits. 

For chronic diseases and conditions such as Degenerative Joint Disease or Lyme disease, supplement use may be ongoing.  

Blood is the foundation of your pet’s health and determines the quality of its cells, hormones, tissues and organs. Our products are concentrated with whole food ingredients and have the ability to quickly provide nutrients for building blood, to help improve lymphatic drainage and help encourage toxin elimination from the blood.

It normally takes 10-14 days for blood plasma to recycle, so some improvements may be visible within that time. White blood cells typically renew between 30-60 days, so immune function usually begins to improve after 30 days.

On average, it takes 120 days for red blood cells to be renewed, so after 120 days, a more significant restorative and regenerative change may be noticed.

Most of our formulas function as tonics, detoxifiers and reparative agents, and can be used daily. Some herbs are meant to be used on a short term remedial basis, whereas others can be used long term as well as used daily. For products that are meant to be used on a short term, or more remedial basis, we list that information on the product page.

Some products are separated by age, breed and type of animal and our products are split into 5 categories: All Life Stage (ALS), Adult, Senior, Puppy and Kitten.

Could my pet experience a reaction to any of the products?

Occasionally, some products may lead your pet to experience what is referred to as by veterinarians as a “healing episode" or "healing crisis.” A healing crisis should not be viewed as a negative reaction and is a normal part of the healing cycle through plant, herbal and marine products and supplemental use. 

When your pet begins experiencing a healing process, it is partially due to the positive stimulation  of the body’s metabolic rate, which encourages toxin elimination, and is sometimes associated with fatigue, stiff and aching joints, and eye and nose draining and may even provoke hot spots, in the body's attempt to eliminate toxins. These reactions indicate that toxin elimination has begun from congested tissue and is a healthy and normal result of the detoxifying and purifying nature of herbals and supplements.  

In herbal regimens such as Lyme disease, you may want to discontinue administering products for a few days if your pet experiences a healing crisis, to allow normal microbial die off, and then resume at half dosage for a week. As your pet’s body acclimates to the regimen, you may increase up to the recommended dosage. 

Your pet is less likely to experience these types of symptoms if you first start your pet with a detoxifying starter pack, such as our products Shake Ur Groove Thing, or Toxin Avenger, which contains plant products that synergistically flush out toxins from the liver, kidneys, tissues, and cell linings, and then after detoxification, it is recommended that you introduce a reparative herbal into your pet’s health regimen for optimal results, such as Love Your Liver or Hepa Protect Max.

How can my pet get the most benefits from supplement use?

Encourage your pet to drink plenty of filtered, fresh, water daily and eat a balanced, species appropriate diet. When possible, avoid processed foods.
