CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not give to puppies, kittens, pregnant or nursing pets, pets scheduled for surgery within 2 weeks, pets with anemia, peptic ulcers, liver dysfunction, seizures or hypothyroidism. Likely contraindicated with MAO inhibitors, high blood pressure, diabetes and ulcer medications. Interacts with antibiotics, anticoagulants, antiplatelets, atropine, iron supplements, codeine and bortezomib medications. This product does not contain DL-carnitine or D-carnitine. DL-carnitine or D-carnitine can cause angina, muscle pain and loss of muscle function.
DRUG INTERACTIONS:
>Garlic might reduce how much isoniazid (Nydrazid, INH) the body absorbs and may interact with medications used for HIV/AIDS (Non-Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors (NNRTIs)). Saquinavir (Fortovase, Invirase), and Cyclosporine (Neoral, Sandimmune) interacts with GARLIC. Medications changed by the liver (Cytochrome P450 2E1 (CYP2E1) substrates) interacts with garlic. Might decrease how quickly the liver breaks down some medication and may slow blood clotting and may interact with Warfarin (Coumadin).
Green Tea Interacts with quinolone antibiotics, anticoagulants, antiplatelets, atropine, iron supplements, codeine and bortezomib medications. Adenosine (Adenocard) interacts with Green Tea. May interact with antibiotics that decrease how quickly the body breaks down caffeine, including ciprofloxacin (Cipro), enoxacin (Penetrex), norfloxacin (Chibroxin, Noroxin), sparfloxacin (Zagam), trovafloxacin (Trovan), and grepafloxacin (Raxar). Green tea may interact with bortezomib (Velcade®) and other boronic acid based proteasome inhibitors (37) and Tagamet. Tannnin in green tea may reduce the absorption of atropine and codeine. Caffeine in green tea may increase PT / PTT. Possible interactions with adenosine, Beta-lactam, Benzodiazepines, Beta-blockers, Propranolol and Metoprolo, Blood thinners such as Coumadin, chemotherapy medications such as doxorubicin and tamoxifen, Clozapine (Clozaril), Ephedrine, Lithium, MAOI’s including Isocarboxazid (Marplan). Moclobemide, (Manerix), Phenelzine (Nardil) and Tranylcypromine (Parnate) and Phenylpropanolamine, acetaminophen (Tylenol) and Carbamazepine (Tegretol), Dipyridamole (Persatine), estrogen, Fluvoxamine (Luvox), Methotrexate, Mexiletine (Mexitil), Phenobarbital, Theophylline and Verapamil (Bosoptin, Calan, Covera- HS, Verelan, Verelan PM.
Use caution with Warfarin (Coumadin), AZT, Doxorubicin, Isotretinoin or Valproic acid. Avoid using with D-carnitine supplements.
CAUTIONS:
Contains a small amount of naturally occurring caffeine. Cautioned for dogs and cats who should not be exposed to any type of nutritional stimulant. Do not exceed suggested dosage as over use can cause oxidative damage to red blood cells, which can lead to Heinz-body anemia and even death.
Garlic should NOT be fed to pets with a pre-existing anemic condition or to those scheduled for surgery. Do not give to young puppies before six to eight weeks of age should NOT be given garlic because they do not begin reproducing new blood cells until after 6-8 weeks.
Dosage
Dogs and cats up to 12 pounds: 1 capsule, one time daily.
Dogs and cats 13-25 pounds: 1 capsule, two times daily.
Dogs and cats 26-50 pounds: 2 capsules, two times daily.
Dogs 51-75 pounds: 3 capsules, two times daily.
Dogs 76+ pounds: 4 capsules, two times daily.
DO NOT EXCEED RECOMMENDED DOSAGES.
