Recommended Use

Adult, Senior, and Puppies and Kittens over 6 months of age; for sudden stress or ongoing stress (internal or external), for signs of fatigue & reduced stamina, glucose intolerance, inflammatory response & inadequate immune system function, for clinical signs associated with adrenal stress as indicated by alkaline phosphatase, ACTH stimulation test, low-dose dexamethasone suppression test, and/or high-dose dexamethasone suppression test.

Maca is not an MAO inhibitor. Maca is considered safe and gentle for long term use.

Contraindications

None reported. For adult dog and cat use over the age of 2.  Cautioned for use with blood thinners, hypertensive or postoperative situations. 

Drug Interactions

Maca may increase the risk of bleeding when taken with drugs that increase the risk of bleeding, including: aspirin, anticoagulants ("blood thinners") such as warfarin (Coumadin®) or heparin, anti-platelet drugs such as clopidogrel (Plavix®), and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs such as ibuprofen (Rimadyl, Tramadol, Motrin®, Advil®) or naproxen (Naprosyn®, Aleve®). Maca may act as a stimulant and in rare cases can possibly cause hypertension (high blood pressure). Possibly cautioned for pets taking medication for high blood pressure, or other stimulant medications. Consult with your vet before combining therapies.

Cautions

Do not administer if your pet is pregnant or lactating and do not exceed dosage. Cautioned for hypertensive or postoperative situations. 

Dosage

Dogs and cats up to 12 pounds: 1 capsule, one time daily.

Dogs and cats 13-25 pounds: 1 capsule, two times daily. 

Dogs and cats 26-50 pounds: 2 capsules, two times daily.

Dogs 51-75 pounds: 3 capsules, two times daily.

Dogs 76+ pounds: 4 capsules, two times daily.
