LIVE WITH FIV* MEAL TOPPER - ADJUNCTIVE FELINE IMMUNO DEFICIENCY VIRUS SUPPORTIVE CARE* CATS

Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) is a disease that attacks your cat's immune system, leaving them vulnerable to infections. The most common risk of exposure is through bites from another feline.

Our cats are daily exposed to a variety of bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi in their environments, but with an FIV cat, these normally harmless exposures can lead to serious and possibly debilitating illnesses. Cats at greatest risk include those seriously ill or severely immuno-compromised from other diseases, intact males, cats allowed outside and feral outdoor cats.

Common symptoms of FIV include:

  • Reduced or non-existent appetite
  • Enlarged and swollen lymph nodes
  • Persistent fever
  • Lethargy or depression
  • Diarrhea or constipation
  • Persistent immuno-compromised vulnerability to other diseases and pathogens

LIVE WITH FIV* ADJUNCTIVE FELINE IMMUNO DEFICIENCY VIRUS SUPPORTIVE CARE* contains a master blend of adaptogen herbs and marine extracts that may be used as an adjunctive support for the conditional needs of FIV, which may help modulate the immune system (upregulate or down regulate immune response as needed), may help encourage lymphatic detoxification, may help strengthen your cat's ability to fight a variety of infections without tapping body system reserves, may help combat respiratory tract infections, may help stimulate appetite when lost or reduced, and may help increase energy.

There are 2 primary phases of FIV: acute and asymptomatic. The acute phase usually occurs between 1-3 months after infection. The virus is carried to the lymph nodes where it replicates in white blood cells that spread to other lymph nodes in the body. Your cat's lymph nodes may be enlarged and swollen during this phase, accompanied by fever, depression, lethargy, and lack of appetite. Your cat's symptoms may be mild and undetected. Cats are great pain maskers, making it difficult to identify and attribute changes in behavior.

Following the acute phase, cats will enter into an asymptomatic phase, which may last for months to several years. Your pet may still not show any symptoms. The asymptomatic phase slowly but steadily allows the virus to replicate within the cells of the immune system. Your cat can appear perfectly healthy one day and then suddenly seem to succumb to FIV symptoms overnight.

It's important to note that veterinarian visits may detect blood work abnormalities, including low white blood cell levels or increased blood protein levels. Some cats will remain in the asymptomatic stage and never progress to full disease presentation while others may present severe symptoms.
