Sadness & Pining in Dogs, Cats, Puppies and Kittens

Pet supplement for sadness and pining in dogs and cats.

Sadness & Pining

Herbal treatments to help reduce feelings of sadness, pining, grief, anxiety and depression in dogs and cats.

Animals routinely experience irregularities in bodily systems, including the Central and Autonomic Nervous systems, requiring a correction to restore emotional balance, to promote relaxation, to balance mood and provide feelings of comfort and security. Herbal remedies gently relax and calm the Central and Autonomic Nervous Systems without drugging your dog or cat.

Sadness can also affect pets. Your pet’s mood and behavior may change when a new pet is introduced to the family, when a pet passes away, a death in the family or there is a change to the home environment.

Common causes of pet sadness, pining and depression include:

Separation anxiety (from pet's mother, owner or another pet)

A family member moving away

A new person in the house

A new pet in the house

Loss of a family pet

Moving to a new home

New neighborhood or surroundings

Boarding

Kenneling

Illness

Travel

Symptoms of sadness are very similar to symptoms of illness, so be vigilant in observing your pet’s reactions, and if concerned, visit your veterinarian to rule out serious illness.

Helpful suggestions:

For kittens/puppies that have been brought home for the first time:

Put a ticking clock by the bed (simulates mother’s heartbeat)

Put a hot-water bottle (37 – 39 degrees Celsius) wrapped in a towel near your kitten or puppy (this will feel like mother’s body)

For overnight stays at the vet or in a kennel:

Include a piece of old clothing or toy you have handled so that the pet has your scent.

Stay calm and act cheerful, your pet will pick up on bad vibes.

Plan to arrive at the kennel about midday, so that the pet only has half day to endure. Say goodbye quickly, and cheerfully.
