COPAIBA POWDER - PAIN, WOUND & INFECTION SUPPORT* THE PETZ KITCHEN™ for Dogs and Cats

COPAIBA is a large branched tree found bountifully throughout the Amazon Rain Forest ecosystems that produces lovely white flowers and small fruit pods that contain seeds.

The COPAIBA tree also produces a thick, clear oleoresin that varies in color from light yellow to light brown, however the resin and leaf have both been used medicinally in South American herbal, medical societies for a myriad of health related conditional needs.

COPAIBA POWDER is a potent vulnerary (wound healer) and anti-inflammatory, used in herbal medical societies to help stop bleeding, as a topical anti-inflammatory and plant based antibiotic for a variety of skin disorders including hot spots, flaking, oily or scaling skin, insect bites, psoriasis, eczema, skin pustules, skin acne and idiopathic (unknown) skin and coat disorders.

Additionally COPAIBA POWDER is used traditionally help reduce inflammation related to wounds, burns, to help reduce scarring and to help prevent infection, its collagen producing and anti-mutagenic plant actions may also help stimulate new skin and coat when loss, injury or infection has occurred.

COPAIBA POWDER may help promote a smooth and healthy integumentary system which includes the skin, hair, coat, tail, and nails, possibly related to studied plant actions against gram-positive bacteria, viruses, fungi and yeast.

An extract of COPAIBA (tincture or powder) has been studied for its actions against gram-positive Bacillus and Staphylococcus,  including multi-drug-resistant strains and Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), including its ability to possibly penetrate and neutralize biofilm. It's important to note that COPAIBA is not effective against gram-negative bacteria, viruses, fungi or yeast.

COPAIBA POWDER is also used in a traditional, medical system to help reduce pain and discomfort associated with inflammatory joint decline and discomfort related to arthritis and mobility issues, due to its plant constituents that have been studied for their similar functionality to NSAID's. Interestingly, COPAIBA POWDER contains high levels of β-Caryophyllene, a chemical constituent that shares similar plant actions and potential health benefits as CBD oil, including traditional uses for pain, skin and coat, and joint issues.

Another common use of COPAIBA POWDER is as an expectorant to help support the respiratory tract related to bronchitis, sinusitis, asthma and other breathing disorders and may be an invaluable addition to the diet if your pet suffers from gastric ulcers, reflux or GERD. Its caryophyllene content may not only provide significant anti-inflammatory benefits, but also, its collagen producing and gastro-protective actions may help prevent damage to the stomach lining.

Its antiseptic, anti-bacterial and anti-viral actions have been used to help address conditional needs related to cystitis and bladder and kidney infections.

COPAIBA POWDER is strongly vulnerary, antiseptic, expectorant, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, collagen producing, anti-Candidal, anti-fungal, antibiotic, anti-mutagenic, neuroprotective, and anti-microbial.

The main phytochemistry is related to capolic acid, kaurenic acid and kaurenoic acids. Additionally, its oleoresin content (up to 15% volatile oil) contains active biological properties attributed to a group of phytochemicals called sesquiterpenes, diterpenes and terpenic acids.

The naturally occurring essential oil content is extremely versatile and supports the health of many systems of the body, including:
