Women in the Pet Industry Network Welcomes Heidi L. Nevala, President and Founder of Natura Petz

Minneapolis, MN; July 17, 2014 Women in the Pet Industry Network (WIPIN), a leading organization focused on women entrepreneurs in the ever-growing pet industry, welcomes Heidi L. Nevalato its membership. Heidi is President and founder of Natura Petz (http://naturapetz.com) in Minnesota, which is a manufacturer of organic supplements for dogs and cats, using novel ingredients for specialty, common and chronic health conditions.

According to the American Pet Products Association, there are more than 82.5 million pet owners, and this is expected to rise to 92 million by 2018. Even in uncertain economic times, the rate of spending on pets did not falter but continued to grow. The IBISWorld Industry Report shows that for 2008-2013, the pet industry grew 3.4 percent annually. That number is expected to reach and stay at 4 percent a year through 2018.

The total of pet industry expenditures for 2013 is estimated at $55.53 billion, up from $43.2 billion spent in 2008. More and more services – all-natural and organic foods, daycare, pet sitting, and pet fashion accessories – are being provided to help pet owners take the best care of their animals. Over the next five years, the majority of new pet owners is expected to be a combination of single-person households and members of the aging population.

“Our network continues to grow with the addition of talented entrepreneurs such as Heidi Nevala,” said Shawna Schuh, Certified Speaking Professional and President of WIPIN. “Each member brings a unique perspective and adds to our exchange of ideas, information and contacts. Our members hail from companies focused on everything from puppy products to wildlife sanctuaries. Ours is a network of movers and shakers across multiple fields within the pet industry. As members of WIPIN, women from all over the United States and Canada can connect as if they were at a business lunch,” added Schuh.

WIPIN enables that through its network, educational events and membership benefits.”

AboutHeidi L Nevala

Heidi Nevala founded Natura Petz after being inspired by her rescue kittens. Despite feeding holistic, grain-free, premiere food, they would routinely try to gnaw their way into her herbal bottles. It was then that she realized that pets require supplementation just like their pet parents to achieve balanced health and wellness. Having lived in South America for 13 years and having experienced the value of a traditional, medical system focused on plant based therapeutics, she partnered with a holistic veterinarian to create an organic nutraceutical line for pets using novel ingredients from the Amazon and Andes. Natura Petz offers specialty remedies for diseases such as Lyme and Cushing’s, as well as products for common and chronic conditions such as allergies and infections that plague dogs and cats. Natura Petz is passionate about creating pure, natural, pet health. You can reach Heidi at 808 371 7190 or heidi@naturapetz.com. Her business website is http://naturapetz.com/
